Join in on this wonderful family tradition. July 6, will be the 8th annual Christmas in July on Canal Street. The fun begins at 10am with the Sidewalks filled with booths for both the Art Stroll and the annual Sidewalk sale. Our Vendors always proved you amazing deals on their one-of-a-kind wares. (If you would like to become a vendor check under the events tab for more information on becoming a vendor.)
Make your first stop the CSHD information booth located in Christmas park. Pick the event schedule. You and your family won’t want to miss any of the fun. Start by entering to win the raffle by guessing how many objects our in the container on the table. Then pick up your Scavenger Hunt cards. Our Scavenger Hunt always come with amazing prizes provided by our member partners. This year eleven of our members have opened up their doors to take part in this Canal Street Historic District annual event.
At Mid-day take a break under the trees of Christmas Park as music fills the air. Santa Clause will take time out from his much-needed vacation to greet Kids of all ages. FYI – I’m told that Uncle Sam might be stopping by the street to do a little window shopping while taking part in the 1st Saturday Craft Beer walk that starts at 1pm.
Also, at 1pm You don’t want to miss the 8th Annual Bed RACES. This is a must see! If you just want to watch don’t forget to bring water balloons to throw at the teams you want to slow down. Better yet there is plenty of time for you to form your own team of family and friends. You can enter up to a half hour before the race. (race forms are located under the events tab, or at the information table). You can make your own Bed or use one of the those provided by CSHD. Either way you will want to dress it up to represent you, your business or organization. Plus arm your rider with water gun to get back out the crowd for throwing balloons. You will defiantly want to the bragging rights of being this year’s winner.
After all this fun why not finish out your day by grabbing a bite to eat at any of the amazing restaurants along the Canal and the side streets. This is what makes Canal Street the perfect day trip destination. We have fun for all ages!
