New Smyrna’s first History Harvest will be held at the upcoming Heritage Day 2024 event scheduled for Saturday, April 6th from 9AM – 3PM at the New Smyrna Museum of History. Digitize your cherished family history for free including photographs, newspaper articles, a special letter or family tree, even small objects will be able to be digitally imaged free of charge. There will also be a studio set up to capture oral histories on video as they are shared by those whose families were pioneers in early Florida. Those wishing to participate are encouraged to visit the museum websites events and programs tab and selected Heritage Day 2024 for the advance signup form and additional information. Historic photographs and information related to Florida History are of special interest to the RICHES program as they work to create a growing database of history gathered from those whose families experienced it.
