October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Canal Street.
Come join as we celebrate alongside cancer survivors with shopping on Canal Street, dining out at our local restaurants, and getting pampered at our amazing salons.
There will be opportunities to enjoy the street and partake in the many activities. More details to come.
Come on out for the New Smyrna Beach Halloween Parade & Costume Contest on October 31 (when else?) to put your costume-making skills to the ultimate test!
The parade begins at 4:00 PM on Canal Street just east of US 1 and the costume contest follows at the east end of Canal Street.
Only original costumes will be judged by age category (0-4, 5-7, 8-11, 12-17, 18+) and by group.
Prizes for 1st through 4th place and recycling award in each category.
The Canal Street’s Fall Antique and Vintage Market will be sure to not disappoint. Don’t miss a fun day of shopping & browsing through booths filled with:

- Architectural Salvage
- And Lots More…
Bring your treasures to discover their worth. There will be an Experienced Appraiser on site for only $5 per appraisal. All the while, enjoying the endless collections and strolling through New Smyrna’s beautiful historical landmarks.
This years Gala will be a Celestial Odyssey. Expect incredible music and dancing with a 10-piece band and a cosmically-lighted dance floor. The Lowell and Nancy Lohman Family Planetarium at MOAS staff will provide star tours outside and a galactic display inside. Riverside Catering will supply the food and SugarWorks Distillery has designed some out-of-this-world cocktails for your space-traveling pleasure. That’s just a sampling of what to expect. We look forward to seeing you there!
Tree Lighting Ceremony, Live Entertainment & Santa’s Grand Entrance make this family-friendly event the kick off of Christmas on Canal Street in our beautiful Downtown. Canal Street Historic District brings the spirit of the holidays to Christmas Park, Located at the corner of Live Oak & Canal Street.
Stores and Restaurants have extended hours and Canal Street will be closed to accommodate pedestrians. Stop in and visit Santa’s Work Hub and watch the children’s eyes light up when they see sparkling decorations and Santa too! There may also be a special surprise to get you into the “winter” spirit!
Enjoy a wide variety of beautiful gifts and holiday decor handcrafted by local artisans. Our merchants will welcome you into their shops for a look at the treasures available all year long on Canal Street.

Sponsored by The City of New Smyrna Beach, the Annual Christmas Parade will begin at the intersection of Flagler Ave. and South Atlantic. It will travel west along Flagler Avenue and the North Causeway, south Riverside Dr. and will turn west on Canal Street and will end at Orange Street.
